Tonsai Pier, Koh Phi Phi: where most travellers arrive with their bags
Koh Phi Phi has no cars. Most hotels are a walk or a longtail ride from Tonsai Pier. Dragging a suitcase through narrow lanes or wading onto a longtail isn't fun.
You might be on a day stopover, waiting for an evening ferry or heading out on a tour after checkout. Here's where you can leave your bags on Phi Phi and at the main airports on the way.
| Option | Where | Price | Hours | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tonsai Pier luggage storage | On the pier, next to the island fee point | About ฿50 per bag (older report) | Not confirmed | Day stopovers and ferry waits |
| Maya Bay Tours shop | About 5 minutes' walk from the pier | Free (their tour shop) | Shop hours | Guests on their tours |
| Your hotel or hostel | Wherever you stay | Usually free for guests | Reception hours | After checkout, before your ferry |

| Bounce near Krabi Airport | Partner shops near the airport | From ฿80 per day | Varies | Booking ahead online |

Tonsai Pier, Koh Phi Phi: storage sits next to the island fee point
This is the main option on the island. A 2018 travel blog describes a government-run storage point on the pier, right next to where you pay the ฿20 island fee. Your bag gets a number. You can only collect it with that number.
Older Tripadvisor posts say it's staffed with no lockers. Bags are kept behind the desk. One traveller paid ฿50 per bag and got a receipt. Prices may have changed, so ask when you arrive. Lock your bag's zips before handing it over.
Tonsai Village, Koh Phi Phi: some tour shops hold bags for guests
Maya Bay Tours says it offers "free, secure luggage storage at our tour shop." The shop is about a 5-minute walk from the pier. Turn right at the T-junction and walk about 300 metres. Then take the fourth street on the left, opposite Island Divers. The shop is about 50 metres along on the right. It's handy if you're joining one of their tours on arrival day.
Koh Phi Phi hotels: most hold bags before check-in and after checkout
Most hotels on Phi Phi will hold your bags before check-in or after checkout. Several list luggage storage as a facility, including Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel, Mama Beach Residence and Blanco Beach Bar hostel. Ask at reception. This is usually the easiest and safest option. It's also normally free for guests.
Tonsai Village, Koh Phi Phi: ask your ferry office to hold your bags
If you've booked a ferry or tour through an office in Tonsai, ask if they'll keep your bags. Tripadvisor users suggest this, since many travellers have the same problem. Some offices will hold bags while you explore, especially if you're catching their boat later.
Krabi International Airport: left luggage is in Terminal 1
Krabi Airport has a left-luggage facility in Terminal 1, the international terminal. It charges per item. I couldn't find the current fee or hours. You can call the airport on +66 75 636 541 to check. There are no lockers. Bounce lists storage near Krabi Airport from ฿80 per day, with addresses shown after booking.
Phuket International Airport: left luggage open 6:00am to midnight
Phuket Airport has official left-luggage counters run by AIRPORTELs, open daily from 6:00am to midnight. You'll find them on the 1st floor at Door 2 in the International Terminal. There's another on the 1st floor at Door 1 in the Domestic Terminal. Prices aren't listed online. Stasher has a point about 6 minutes' walk from the airport, open 24/7, from about US$1.49 per day.
